Farewell…

The end of 2011 and the end of Celeste and Frederik’s visit. Cezanne was quite sad to see them go, and admitted that she was going to miss them. We took a few photos out back of the family and here are the few that made the cut.

We wish you all a very Merry Christmas !

Santa at the Firehouse !

As luck would have it we ran into Santa (again) at the local firehouse here in Dublin. We walked over to see the jolly fellow and take some photos. Cezanne and Etienne got helmets and badges and were thrilled to see Santa and the fire engines.

Cezanne got to see a boy friend from her class and we got to tease her about it ;-)

Christmas Card Photo Shoot

It was time for the annual photo shoot for the Christmas card. Armed with lots of patience and very little expectations I got stuck in and just had the kids play and then pose in front of the tree. Lanelle had seen an idea to use blackboards to carry the message and by splitting the message in two it made the job of getting the perfect shot a little easier since only one kid was in the shot at a time - only one set of eyes needed to be looking at the camera - it worked !

Cezanne loves to pose and so her part in all of this was easy.

Etienne and Cezanne playing in front of the tree - this play soon led to a fight which I just had to capture and add to the card - enjoy !

Thanksgiving 2011

dsc_1626.JPGdsc_1628.JPG

Well it has been quite a year and we have much to be thankful for.

Most importantly though, that we are healthy and together as a family !

I hope you were able to find a moment to be thankful for the blessings of 2011…

Trick or Treat

So as I mentioned in the last post, Cezanne and Etienne were Candice and Perry the Platypus from the Disney show Phineas & Ferb.

Cezanne as Candice, Etienne as Perry, the “real” Perry and Candice.

Lanelle made some cool new decorations this year - milk jug ghosts and we put them out front to light the path for all the trick or treaters. Cezanne and Etienne needed to be in the shot and then Cezanne got silly.

Silly, Sillier, Silliest ?

Halloween & Fall Festival

Halloween again and the hardest thing is trying to determine what the kids will be. We try to push them to pick something unique and fun ( no witches, ghosts etc ). We are huge Phineas & Ferb ( Disney ) fans and thinking I was doing Lanelle a big favor I suggested that Cezanne should be Candice ( my thinking was that the outfit was a red shirt and a white skirt which could be reused and not wasted ! Turns out this was NOT as easy to find ! ) Cezanne really liked the idea and we got her a full outfit from the red/orange wig down to the white shoes.

Later that same day was the Fall Festival. Etienne was Perry the Platypus from Phineas & Ferb and the two together were such a cute couple. The had so much fun getting faces painted, balloon animals, hot dogs for dinner and then later the cake walk ! So much fun in a single day !

First Field Trip

img_1433.JPGimg_1436.JPGimg_1456.JPG

The first official class trip for Cezanne and her K-3 kindergarten class.

Lanelle and Etienne were invited to join the class.

Cezanne got to pick a pumpkin from the pumpkin patch.

Apple Hill

dsc_1049.JPGdsc_1056.JPGdsc_1069.JPGdsc_1089.JPG

We found somewhere to pick apples and keep the tradition going. It was a little further than the farm we picked at in Illinois, but well worth the drive. A lot of much smaller apple farms that were not too crowded and this made it great !

dsc_1118.JPGdsc_1123.JPGdsc_1133.JPG

We found a few farm stalls selling pumpkins as well as apples and this one in particular had an amazing selection of different shapes and sizes of pumpkins.

dsc_1148.JPGdsc_1164.JPG

Finally we stopped in to see good old friends and Cezanne got to fulfill a dream, riding a real horse. Just look at that face ! Clearly this was the highlight of the day !!

Gator Gallop

…and so it begins. Fund raising for school.

John Green Elementary has an alligator as a mascot and so this “Fun Run” is called the Gator Gallop. Lanelle and 2 other mothers who are now the “class room Moms” made the outfits for the kids ( with their help during class one day ).

Cezanne ran 26 laps ! The poor little kids ran around in circles “laps” for 45 minutes ! She and all her classmates did a great job !! Go Gators !!
