Today we took Cezanne for her second flu vacination at her new doctor. We were not able to meet the new doctor but the nurse that helped us and gave Cezanne her shot was very nice. We had to change doctors because my medical benefits plan at work changed and Cezanne’s Pediatrician does not accept the new plan.

Cezanne was a monster, she tore up all the paper liner that they place over the examination table. When it came time for the one shot I distracted her with the pull ties around my neck and she did not even cry when she got her injection. What a trooper !

We had were weighed again and she is now 17lbs 8oz which is great !

At this stage Cezanne is almost crawling ( she is a master of the leopard crawl ), she is getting up into a sitting position more frequently although we still think it is unintentional, and she is talking up a storm. Eating has become a game, some days it goes very well and other days (like today) she spits out more than she swallows.

Today we went to the Doctor for our 6 month visit.

Cezanne was very happy through most of the check up and really enjoyed the new doctor she saw today, but the visit ended as the last three have, with injections…

She did cry a little but did very well, we were both very proud of her. She is a little trooper !

Her stats at 6 months are:

Length / Height = 26 1/2 inches

Weight = 16lbs 2oz

Head Circumfrence = 41cm

Going to the doctor on Halloween, could it get any worse ?

Well we did very well although our metrics were a little below what we had hoped for. Cezanne’s head is now even smaller than on her last visit in terms of percentiles. Her head circumference is in the 7th percentile but this is no indication of intelligence since she is bright and alert and passed all the tests the doctor put her through.

Her length was also less than we expected and is only in the 60% range while her weight is around 30%. Her full “specs” at this stage are :

Length : 25.5 inches

Weight : 14lbs 7oz

Head Circumference : 40.5 cm

Then it was time for the vaccines, first the oral Rotovirus and then the 4 injections. Cezanne did really well and only cried a little until we put her in her car seat and played with her a bit. The doctor is very happy with her development and had only positive comments.

A big day today, Cezanne survived 2 months with us as parents. We must be doing something right

Today was a great day but also a bad day since the 2 month Doctor visit involved 4 injections. Cezanne is now 23 inches tall / long and now weighs 11lbs 8oz. ( Clearly she has mastered breastfeeding ! )

The 2 nurses were very good and Cezanne only cried for a little while after the vacinations were administered.

Again to the Doctor for a routine check up on progress and Cezanne is now 21.5 inches long so she is growing, but she lost 1 oz to now weigh 9lbs 1oz which is due in part to the breastfeeding challenge. The Doctor is not too worried since she is developing on track.

Took Cezanne to the Doctor for her 1 week check up and she was 9lbs 2oz. Still the breastfeeding is a struggle but each day things get a little better as she gets better at feeding.
