Ice Skating Class

Filed under: Just Everyday,Places Visited — Dad @ 12:05 pm

Cezanne had asked to do ice skating and we were able to find her a class local to us here. She did very well and took to the ice with cautious confidence. It took her a few weeks to get the “balance” and “falling” and “getting back up” skills figured out but then she was at ease and had a good time making friends almost immediately and chatting and giggling her way through two sessions before passing and moving on up to the next level.

Field Day

Filed under: Special Events — Dad @ 12:00 pm

Cezanne’s first year at school ( Kindergarten ) was coming to an end and one of the last fun things they did was take part in Field Day. We translated what we heard about Field Day to mean this was a Sports Day and so we gave Cezanne a good pep talk and got her all worked up to run fast and win win win ! Turns out this was more of a fun and games day and had really no sporting or competitive aspect to it as all…

Little Miss Sassy lined up to take part. One of the events was a race to fill a bucket with water carried in a big sponge. There was also some sort of skateboarding event and a “tied up in toilet paper” contest. At the end of the day it was Popsicles for everybody !

Art Faire

Filed under: Special Events — Dad @ 5:53 pm

The annual art faire at school featured works by the kids. I had actually been in the class when they did the art on display, Van Gogh’s Sunflowers. It was really great to see it on display and Cezanne was proud to show it off, but I think she enjoyed the free lemonade and cookies more…

So I guess you’d call this a Van Gogh by Cezanne and it would retail for… bidding starts at $5,000,000.00 ? 🙂
