Cezanne and her Kensington School class put on their winter concert for us. The theme was “It’s a brand new day” and so the kids got to go to school in their pajamas. Cezanne had been giving us a few samples before the day so we knew we were in for a treat. I took these photos and a couple of video clips on my phone. The video quality is not great but I’ll find a way to get it online for you to enjoy. Cezanne knew all the words and sang her heart out !!

After all the snow from the big blizzard we thought we would try sledding again with good friends Chloe & Megan. This time Megan was not sick and so Etienne and Megan joined us on the sled hill. Cezanne and Chloe got to try out the new blue sled and took turns riding in front. Cezanne was even brave enough to go down on her tummy head first ! We might hate winter because we can’t wear short sleeves ( this is a big thing for Cezanne ) but we sure do love the snow !!

The great blizzard for 2011 hit us hard with between 17 and 20 inches of snow. We had a real snow day with school being closed so we just stayed home.

As you can see we got a lot of snow and due to the strong winds and snow drifts there were places where the snow was even deeper than the amounts that fell.

Our deck collected a lot - see the sliding door out onto our deck. The snow piled up to the handle which is 43 inches off the floor.

The driveway was another challenge, the snow was deeper / taller / higher than the snowblower and required multiple passes just to get through all the snow.

Finally our back yard, see the top of the vegetable garden fence peeping through the snow… ( I added a photo from Dec 31, 2010 when all the snow had melted )
