Making Etienne Happy

Cezanne is doing very well as a big sister. One morning we had to put him down while in her room so I put him on her bed. He did not like that very much but Cezanne climbed in next to him and sang and talked to him and got him to stop crying.

Playground Christmas Party

The annual playground Christmas Party was at Gillian’s house and as usual the kids had so much fun playing with one another while the adults got to relax a bit, eat, chat while keeping and eye on the kids. There are so many toys to play with and having a friend to play with makes this a great time for all the children. Then it was time for the secret Santa gift exchange and this was enjoyed by all.

Christmas Photos

In an attempt to create a cute photo for our annual Christmas card we dressed the kids and placed them in front of the tree, here are some of the photos that did not make the cut…

My Gingerbread House

A tradition that Lanelle started with Cezanne last year and improved on this year by building the house the night before since it needs time to set. Cezanne helped decorate the house with candy and they even made a Christmas tree and pathway all the way to the front door, just like our house…

Princess Tea Party

As a reward for being a good girl, listening and helping out with Etienne, Lanelle bought Cezanne a tea set for in the bath and they had a tea party in the bath after a long day out and about.

Polar Express

I guess we can say that it is now officially Christmas, or as these Americans like to say, the Holiday season so as not to infringe on the religious freedoms of those who just don’t get it…

Anyway…

On a cold winter morning we bundled up and actually got out the house on schedule in order to catch the Polar Express. We found all our friends and got seated just in time for the departure to the North Pole (aka Chicago). Along the way we sang Christmas Carols, ate candy canes and heard the story of the Polar Express. There were a number of special guests on board that made their way through the train, most notably was Santa himself. Cezanne had a wonderful time and clearly wanted to sit with her friends rather than with us… So sad… Well at least I have something to fill that void, his name is Etienne ;-)
