A Christmas Tradition ?

Lanelle decided that since she really loves Christmas she wanted to make it a special time for us all and especially for Cezanne. She decided that she wanted to start some Christmas traditions and one she picked was building a gingerbread house and then decorating it. With us living here in the US were everything is “ready made” she was able to buy a box with all the bits ready to go, all she needed to do was add water to the premixed icing and stir. Cezanne helped but the initial phases of construction took more adult effort than that of a 2 year old, but she watched with interest and we explained that we needed to let it dry and that eventually she would get a chance to put the decorations on the house.

Here is the finished product along with some poses from Cezanne.

I LOVE SNOW !

Well if you thought Cezanne loved to play outside in summer in the water and swim in her pool, then you need to see her excitement and sheer silliness over playing in the snow. I think it has been helped along by her favorite TV show - Caillou - a 4 year old boy who lives in Canada where there is a lot of snow and so many of the episodes cover snow related activities. She learned how to make a snow angle from Caillou, one thing the TV taught her that I am glad I did not have to show her ;-)

We had a good bit of snow and while it was really not wet and sticky, the kind that works well for building a snowman, we had to try… Mom got a spray bottle and Dad rolled fluffy powder until we had just enough for a head, the body was just a pile and we got a nose and eyes and arms in.

The other great love is the snow sled, we tried on the little hill in our backyard and it worked well enough, I can’t wait to take her to the big hill in the park !

The Annual Christmas Party @ Louise

Yes, this will be our 3rd year and we really had a good time again. The food was great as always and we did actually get a slightly better set of photos with Santa this year… If you remember our Christmas card from last year we had Cezanne on the one side, Santa on the other and Cezanne was screaming as if we were dragging her over hot coals…

Cezanne is really into Christmas and we sing Santa Claus is Coming To Town and Here Comes Santa Claus but when it came to the real thing she was a bit shy. Santa had to sneak into a few of the photos, but he did it really well…

We Love to Cut & Glue !

Cezanne just loves to cut and glue and asks to do it often. I thought we were paying her school so that we could get her to mess there and not on our table at home ;-)

Oh well, we now cut up old magazines and glue the pictures together and on to one another and then we draw on the glue mess and have a ball, all in a matter of 5 minutes and then we leave Mom & Dad with 30 minutes of mess to clean up :-)

Count Down To Christmas

With a beautiful advent calendar that Ouma sent us we started the count down to Christmas. We filled each pocket of the calendar with a little something special and each morning after breakfast Cezanne gets to open one “baggie” and discover her treasure for the day.
