Labor ?
June 20, 2006 by Dad.
Lanelle had the easiest delivery possible.
After checking in at 3pm yesterday she was hooked up to all the monitors and finally calmed down by about 4pm.
The contractions were already there but Lanelle claimed she could not feel them. By 7pm she had started to feel a couple of “bad” contractions and called for her epidural which was promptly administered and that was just enough to allow her to get some rest.
We were able to watch TV, sleep and chat.
At about 10pm the initial epidural was just not strong enough so Lanelle got a “top up” which really did not help much.
Eventually at 12:30am Lanelle called for another “fix” and was given, and I quote ‘…the atomic bomb of epidurals’ which did the trick. Lanelle fell asleep and woke at about 3:30am ready to deliver.
The doctor came in to check and she was indeed ready. The real push started at about 3:45am and by 4:19am it was all over !!
Great job Mom !
